During the process of cell and tissue culture, theorganisms can negatively impact the presence of bacteria and microorganisms can negatively impact cell growth and even lead to experimental failure. Therefore, maintaining the sterility of the culture medium is crucial.     Sterilizing filters remove or kill microorganisms in the culture medium through physical or chemical methods, ensuring that cells grow and proliferate in a sterile environment.

 

Sterilizing syringe filters, particularly those made of polyethersulfone (PES), are widely used for the sterilization filtration of biological media. These filters undergo γ-ray sterilization to ensure they are free from any pyrogenic and DNA contamination. Polyethersulfone (PES) filters, due to their hydrophilicity and low protein-binding characteristics, are particularly suitable for filtering proteins in biological samples and aqueous solutions, such as serum medium filtration.
